ink

I write in ink because I think pencils are basic
I want to see my mistakes, not erase them
I want the ink to bleed through the paper
because that’s just how hard it is
that’s just how much it means to me
I write in ink because it’s permanent
because we don’t get these seconds back
Once the words flow out, there’s no saving them
or me, where is reciprocity
when all I do is give my soul away
expecting nothing much in exchange
but a little relief, no matter how brief
but, I write in ink
so there’s no mistaking
the mess on this paper is me
