rage

she rages out loud
outside the carefully drawn lines
she bursts through the carefully picked clothes
and tramples upon the cute little designs
they planned for her
she rages, not in anger
but in ambitious resolution
breaking glass at the risk of cutting herself
she welcomes the scars
the pain that comes with freedom is
better than the comforts of a life
they tried to convince her wasn’t a prison
